China guide

China history

With a civilization of over 5000 years, China is a country with a long and rich history and it is one of the four ancient countries in the world. Chinese civilization originated in various regional centers along both the Yellow River and the Yangtzé River valleys in the Neolithic era, but the Yellow River is said to be the cradle of Chinese civilization. Along Chinese history, the country has undergone many Chinese dynasties and each Chinese dynasty has its own characteristics. Here is a chronology of Chinese dynasties that can give you a brief look of the ancient China.

China culture

China's long history has seen some extremely important inventions emerge, most noticeably paper making, gunpowder, printing and the compass, which, in the words of Roger Bacon, changed the whole appearance and status of things in the world.
China's four great ancient inventions made tremendous contributions to the world's economy and the culture of mankind. They were also important symbols of China's role as a great world civilization.

China customs and traditions

Chinese culture is rich in customs and traditions. To many people in the west, the word 'China' can typically conjure up thoughts of dragons, pandas, the color red, the number 8 and the distinctive script, all of which are traditional to this country.
But it goes a lot further than this. In this section of Chinese customs and traditions, an important part of China Guide, you will find detailed descriptions of a selection of traditional customs in certain areas of life.
